Amuse 2025, an inter-collegiate music competition, was proudly presented by the Alumni Association of our college. This special event was dedicated to the memory of Mr. John P. Varkey, a remarkable alumnus whose musical legacy continues to inspire and resonate within our institution.
The programme was held on January 25, 2025, and featured an exciting day of musical celebration. The morning session began with a prestigious music band competition held on a grand stage at the college ground. More than 15 musical bands participated, with their performances scrutinized by our distinguished alumnus and Grammy Award winner, Mr. Manoj George. As per the competition guidelines, seven bands from esteemed institutions across Kerala qualified for the final round. The session was chaired by eminent musicians who brought their expertise and passion to the event.
In the competition, Bansuri from Government Engineering College, Thrissur, claimed the first prize with a cash award of ₹1,00,000. The second prize of ₹50,000 was secured by Nodico Band from St. Aloysius College, while Davani band from Bharath Mata College, Ernakulam, bagged the third prize worth ₹25,000. In addition to these top honors, individual prizes were awarded in various categories including Best Vocalist, Best Guitarist, Best Bassist, Best Drummer, Best Pianist, Best Instrumentalist, Best Percussionist, and Best Original Song, recognizing outstanding talent across diverse musical roles.
The evening session was a grand musical night headlined by the acclaimed band Masala Coffee, known for their genre-blending style and vibrant stage presence. Their performance electrified the atmosphere, as they delivered a powerful mix of folk, rock, and Indian fusion music. With their dynamic energy and soulful renditions, Masala Coffee captivated the audience of over 3,000 attendees, creating an unforgettable musical experience and a perfect finale to Amuse 25.
